On this lazy Sunday afternoon, the Texas Hill Country called us to view its magnificent sunset, to take a mini tour! My husband and I piled in the car late in the day for a trip to nowhere. Over the years of our lengthy marriage, we have enjoyed exploring Mother Natures fall decorations in the Austin hill country, in its various forms. We always arrive home satisfied and full of great memories of scenes we could not have imagined! So it was today!
The smells of cedar trees tickled our nostrils as we crawled down a quiet country road North of town. Cows walked lazily in the dusky evening, making their way home to their evening meal. Many elegant homes, snuggled in the Oak trees of the area, sat quietly on the hill country terrain, as if their owners were huddled in front of their televisions watching a football game and napping. Distant views of rocky and rolling terrain peppered the horizon.
I cannot imagine living anywhere else in this great country, at this moment in time! Fall in Austin cannot be surpassed. Say what you want about the summers, I live here because of these moments on lazy Fall days spent exploring our great Texas Hill Country! Austin is a great spot for your next vacation!

In the Texas Hill Country, fall days are clear and cool and dry. Daytime temperatures hover around 70 and so do the speed limits on the narrow two-lane roads that rise and dip among ragged limestone escarpments and lush river valleys.

Lovely Photos! I love taking photos of the Central Texas Hill country! I am looking forward to spring, with all this rain we are bound to see some of the most beautiful wildflower landscapes. I can hardly wait!
